OUR TALENTED TEAM

Our Talented Team

We are talented printing and blueprint experts, account managers, graphic designers, accountants and customer service specialists. But to our customers, we are the faces and names of Surrey Digital Printing.

Roll over our photos, to get to know the personalities behind the printing.

Hawkeye

Bill has taken Surrey Digital Printing from the three-person blueprint shop he purchased in 2009, to the multitalented, multidisciplinary team we are today. An industry veteran with more than 40 years in the printing industry, Bill oversees operations, budgets and financials. He’s a take-it-all-in kind of boss who strives to listen and observe before making business decisions, skills he learned from watching his parents and former supervisors. He enjoys cycling, golfing and walking his dog.

Little-known fact: I’ve lived in five Canadian cities between here and Toronto
Favourite printed piece: The large posters we print for our clients

Family Guy

Jared has been Surrey Digital’s chief decision maker, visionary, advisor and occasional fighter of fires since 2012. Before he joined the family business, he spent six years in the banking industry (that’s where he must have learned about printing – money, that is). After a long day at Surrey Digital, you’ll find Jared playing and coaching baseball, playing golf and trying hard not to fall asleep while watching movies.

Little-known fact: Jared could live on Big Macs and tacos
Favourite printed piece: Old sports photos and National Geographic prints

For more than 10 years, Melissa has been bringing customer ideas, artwork and projects to life. A third-generation printing professional, Melissa has been in the industry since 2003. Before joining Surrey Digital Printing, she worked in a real-life The Office kind of paper company. In her spare time, she keeps busy with crafts, and especially loves to crochet.

Little-known fact: Melissa admits she was one of those annoying tele-survey people who used to call you at dinnertime.
Favourite printed piece: Stickers. The more the better!

CEO of Mistimed Jokes

When Billy’s not explaining what ”reprographics” means to his friends and family, he’s heading up our team of blueprint specialists. He’s been with us for more than 10 years, and solves our customers’ challenges with his sharp critical thinking skills. When he’s not in the front of our shop, he’s explaining “reprographics” (again) to his family and friends, playing video games and working out at the gym.

Little-known fact: You can hear Billy’s thumb joint crack from the back of the shop
Favourite printed piece: Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark, a beautiful series of children’s books

You could say Roger is a hands-on kind of guy. Before joining Surrey Digital Printing in 2017, he worked for 30 years as an HVAC technician, plumber and gas fitter. Today, you’ll find Roger scanning, copying, making deliveries and doing anything else needed to wow our customers. He’s a self-professed “fishing-holic” and also enjoys camping and spending time with family and friends, his two dogs and cat who inspire him to do his best.

He brings with him printing knowledge, skills and finesse that go back to India, where as a young boy he would help his father in the family printing business. In our shop, Ramit is all about efficiency and quality as he strives to create the best prints possible for our customers. When not at work, you’ll find Ramit exploring on his bike.

Sarah keeps a laser beam focus on providing excellent service to our customers, without losing sight of quality. Before she joined Surrey Digital Printing in 2017, Sarah worked in accounts receivable for a parking company. Around here, she’s known for her attention to detail and organizational skills. Weekends and spare time are filled with family and friends, books and audio files.

Little-known fact: Sarah was a gymnast for eight years and competed provincially
Favourite printed piece: A high school love letter from her husband in 12pt Times Roman font

Jack of All Trades

Print industry veteran Bob still remembers the days when type was set by hand. Today, he’s a finishing specialist who’s always on the lookout for printing faults, spelling errors and misaligned margins, not to mention a great mentor. When he’s not scrutinizing our customers’ work, Bob watches the best game you can name (hockey), racking up chips in Texas Holdem or playing on his iPad.

Little-known fact: Bob is proud of his accomplishments and consistent punctuality

Print Shop Earlybird

Lynnette has been with Surrey Digital Printing for more than seven years and switches from accounting to customer service like Mrs. Incredible to Elastigirl. And like Elastigirl, Lynnette’s career has stretched in all directions, from a quilt shop manager to group home nurse to a campground cartographer. Lynnette enjoys volunteering with preteens at her church, exploring Nanaimo beaches with her family and birdwatching.

Efficiency and precision are part of Omar’s DNA, which is likely why he’s always exceeding our customers’ expectations as our shipper and delivery driver. With Surrey Digital Printing since 2018, Omar joined us from an auto parts supply company. He enjoys film noir, esoteric novels, cooking and the occasional glass of wine. As a part-time personal fitness trainer, Omar believes that happiness and beauty are intertwined.

Little-known fact: Omar loves cats and fashion. And perhaps fashionable cats.
Favourite printed piece: His poster of Tournée du Chat Noir

The Shop Dogs

Wrigley, the chocolate lab, and Kali, the Australian Shepherd Cross, are Surrey Digital Printing’s resident shop dogs. While they couldn’t be more different from one another – he’s a goofball, she’s a lady – they are the best of friends. When they aren’t greeting customers and keeping the staff in line, Wrigley and Kali wrestle with each other, chase stuffed animals, and hang around the kitchen hoping for treats.
