Improve your Business Footprint

Which one of these papers supports your business and personal values?

Paper “A”

Paper “B”

Hard to decide which to choose, right?

These 2 piles of paper are actually very different.

Paper “A” is a traditional wood-fibre paper, containing trees cut in ancient and endangered forests.
Paper “B” is Wheat Sheet, a wheat straw residue paper containing 60% wheat straw residue from the wheat farming process, 35% recycled FSC Certified wood fibre from the plywood industry and 5% FSC Certified plantation fibre. As well, the carbon emissions of Wheat Sheet are more than 40% less that traditional wood fibre papers like Paper “A”.

Paper “B” has a 70% smaller environmental footprint and is forest-free.*
It looks the same, performs the same, and costs the same.

Now which one would you choose?  The choice is clear.

Case Study Utilizing Tru-Cost Data: A Canadian University that uses 70 million sheets of wood fibre copier paper each year converting to the Wheat Sheet will save 7957 trees per year and reduce its carbon footprint by 381,000 Kg. They are now planning the integration of these savings within their marketing and communications to align with the values of with their students, faculty, administration and community.

As a graphical representation of these environmental savings, click here to view the bar chart used to communicate their savings to their organisation.

In addition to the smaller footprint, choosing the Wheat Sheet ensures that ancient and endangered forests can continue absorbing greenhouse gases, providing oxygen, maintaining animal habitats, growing plants for medicine, assisting with climate stability, etc.
