FOR OUR PLANET

Surrey Digital Printing is a social and environmentally friendly printer.

creating sustainability

As a printing company, we deal with a lot of consumables: paper, inks, toner, packaging, electricity. But that means we also have plenty of opportunities to minimize our footprint. As a citizen of the Surrey community — and this planet — we’d be remiss if we didn’t take advantage of what’s availed to us. Here are the ways we’re paying attention.

PAPERS

All of our papers are locally sourced, and certified either by the Forest Stewardship Council, Rainforest Alliance, Sustainability Forestry Initiative or World Wildlife Fund. We also offer Sugar Sheet™ Copy Paper, which we use for our own in-house printing. Made with sugar cane waste, it saves one tree for every two boxes used.

PROCESSES

By using digital printing processes, we can shorten print runs. This saves up to 80% of waste over traditional (offset) printing for each job — and saves our customers money.

PRINT SHOP

We’ve invested in equipment — printers, computers, monitors and other electronics, and even lighting — that’s Energy Star rated.

PARTNERS

We take advantage of recycling programs like Xerox Green World Alliance and HP’s Planet Partners Program to recycle toner cartridges, parts, print supplies and other consumables.

PRACTICES

Here in Surrey, we’ve got great recycling centres that accept batteries and electronics, foam packaging and lightbulbs. We’ll even return recyclables on our customers’ behalf. We also make sure to turn off the lights at night.
